    If you received a federal six-month extension and are expecting an Oregon refund, do not use Form 40-Ext. Oregon will allow the same extension. Use Form 40-EXT, if: you are making a tax payment and you can not file your Oregon return by April 15, or you are filing an extension for Oregon only, you do not have a federal extension. Extension must be filed by the due date of the return, April 15th
