  • Electronic Filing:
    Kentucky accepts Resident electronically when transmitted with the Federal return. Resident returns can be transmitted as state only returns. The use of the federal PIN meets signature requirements for the Kentucky return and no 8453-K is required. For returns filed without a PIN, an 8453-K is required. This document does not need to be mailed to KDOR. Tax preparers must retain them for a period of three years. State copies of the wage statements, supporting schedules, documents requiring signatures and other informational documents should be attached to the 8453-K and be retained by the ERO for a period of three years.
