    If you cannot file your return by the due date, you may apply for an automatic 6-month extension. To receive the extension you must file Form D-410. You should apply for the extension even if you bekieve you will be due a refund.

    North Carolina accepts Resident, Nonresident, and Part-year returns electronically. They can be transmitted with the Federal return or transmitted as a State only return. North Carolina does not have an 8453/8879 type efile document.
